Home - Journeys - Thailand and Vietnam 2025 - Monday, February 10, 2025

We slept badly with the family in Lat Krabang, we went to bed at about nine o'clock Thai time, but that is three o'clock in the afternoon Dutch time. We wake up at two in the morning Thai time and don't fall back into a (restless) sleep until five o'clock.
We get up at half past seven and go for coffee.

Pia asks what the intention is with the broken washing machine. According to Moue, Kaeng is going to repair the machine, but when will that be ready?? Until then, the laundry goes to a launderette.
Pia also asks what should be done with a golf cart that has been unused in the way for a few years and has not worked since then. Moue thinks the thing should go, but she and Kaeng do not have time for it. So we are going to try to get rid of the thing.

Independently of each other we get the idea not to wait until the washing machine is repaired, Kaeng is not so good at carrying out a job according to a schedule. We want to buy a new washing machine as a gift, after all it is also in our own interest, but then a washing machine that we have chosen. And that will probably be a Samsung or an LG, brands that also have a good name in the Netherlands.

At about one o'clock we take a taxi, not an official one but one called by Cartoon via the app Bolt, to the Paseo Latkrabang. We want to do some shopping, anti-mosquito stuff and yoghurt and cheese. And also look at Home Pro for a washing machine.
There are two drugstores in the Paseo Lat Krabang where we can look for mosquito stuff, the first one doesn't have what we want. We want a roller and not a spray can or something, the second drugstore does have that.
But first something to eat, we choose a restaurant, สามเซียน สาขาพาซิโอ้มอลล์ ลาดกระบัง, where they sell all sorts of food, Chinese, Thai, Japanese. It tastes reasonable and is not expensive.
Then on to Home Pro, and that is closed in Paseo Lat Krabang. Fortunately, there is also a Home Pro on the other side of the main road, Thanon Lat Krabang. As we walk through the mall to the road, we notice that there are a lot of empty shops, more than during the previous trip.

At Home Pro we see many washing machines, from both European and Asian manufacturers. We see one from Samsung that seems nice to us, for almost 23000Thb (approx. 650 Euro). We take pictures of it, exchange phone numbers with the sellers and agree to come back tomorrow after consultation with Moue. If we order tomorrow, the machine can be connected on Friday and that just works out with our trip to Vietnam.

At the Villa Market next door we do some shopping, cheese, drinking yoghurt and Greek yoghurt. We get the idea that the range has become smaller. At the checkout a saleswoman wants Pia to install an app on her phone (which should already be there but can't be found anymore). That takes quite some time but eventually it works.

We'll also have a look at Index Living Mall, also next door, for a towel rack and a new duvet.
We also find and buy that, so we have a rack that we also have in our home in the Netherlands.

In the meantime we think that we can also call Moue now, she is happy with a new washing machine and she comes straight to the Home Pro. After some consultation the washing machine is ordered and delivered on Wednesday at the end of the day.

Then we still have to buy food at a market where Pia also went yesterday. It takes almost two hours to get there, it is rush hour and very busy. Food is bought and cooked at home. Tastes good.

At half past nine we go to bed, jet lag. We fall asleep quickly.
